Indoor – Handknotted

Using an elaborate artisanal manual method, each rug is hand-knotted and features a unique knot of a distinctive thickness. The meticulous workmanship involved in the traditional hand knotting process  allows for gorgeous complex designs using a wide range of colour combinations with a high number of knots per square metre. The rug’s quality, value, and durability are determined based on the number of knots employed. The distinctive Indo-Tibetan hand knotting technique was brought to India by Tibetan refugees, while the ‘sumac’ knotting technique originated in Persia.
